8 experiences that explain Foz through water, forest, energy and border culture.
These are editorial experiences, not a ranking and not a substitute for current operating information. The list deliberately separates attractions that are often sold together.

1. Walk the Brazilian Cataratas circuit
The traditional Cataratas trail inside Iguaçu National Park follows approximately 1.5 kilometers of viewpoints toward the final walkway and the view into the Garganta do Diabo system. The experience is panoramic and cumulative: protect enough time for the park transport, forest edge, spray and changing angles rather than treating the last platform as the only objective.

2. Experience the river with Macuco Safari
Macuco Safari operates inside the national park as a separate forest-and-river product, moving through a land stage, a short walking stage and a boat stage on the Iguaçu River. Park admission is not automatically included. Navigation, accessibility and how wet the outing becomes depend on the selected product and current conditions.

3. Read the Atlantic Forest at Parque das Aves
Beside the national-park entrance, Parque das Aves is a conservation institution focused on Atlantic Forest species. Walk it as its own interpretive experience rather than a quick photo stop: the value is in the immersion areas, rescued animals, education and the connection between habitat protection and responsible visitation.

4. Follow the rivers into AquaFoz
Opened to the public in November 2025, AquaFoz is an indoor aquarium opposite the national-park entrance. Its route connects the Paraná and Iguaçu freshwater systems with ocean environments through a purpose-built aquatic interpretation space. Treat it as a distinct conservation-and-education visit, not as part of the park ticket.

5. See Itaipu through the Panorâmica circuit
Itaipu Panorâmica uses an external vehicle circuit through major viewpoints such as the forced-conduit avenue, dam top, central lookout and spillway lookout. Spillway operation is never guaranteed, and operational needs can alter the route. Choose this product for the large-scale landscape and engineering overview.

6. Visit Refúgio Biológico Bela Vista
Itaipu’s Refúgio Biológico Bela Vista combines a managed route and light trail with environmental education, native vegetation and animals cared for in the refuge. It is not simply an extension of the panoramic dam tour: capacity, schedule, physical requirements and transport are specific to this visitor product.

7. Watch two rivers meet at the Marco das Três Fronteiras
The Brazilian obelisk stands where the Iguaçu River meets the Paraná River, facing the corresponding frontier points in Argentina and Paraguay. The experience combines geography, sunset views, historical interpretation and scheduled cultural programming. Confirm the day’s program rather than assuming every performance occurs at every visit.

8. Explore Foz’s multicultural religious landscape
The Chen Tien Buddhist Temple, created by Chinese communities of the Triple Frontier, and the Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque, a landmark of the city’s Arab and Muslim community, turn multiculturalism into a visible city experience. They are active religious spaces: verify visitor access, prayer or ceremony conflicts, dress expectations and photography rules before arrival.
